I love and adore turmeric. This is for myriad reasons, including how beautiful it’s mustardy color is in my food, and for the amazing anti-inflammatory benefits. I drink it every morning for breakfast in my spiced milk. Turmeric is awesome, and I sneak it in wherever I can.
Since I try to avoid giving my kiddo sugar as much as possible without being a Nazi, I figured coconut milk-based popsicles with a little bit of turmeric and honey would do the trick as a cooling summer treat. Apparently, this is called golden milk. It’s a thing.
Luckily, he’s not a total sugar-fiend (yet), so he dove right in. And yes, I get that honey is essentially sugar. But it is lower on the glycemic index. Gotta choose your battles.
Here’s the skinny:
Mix coconut milk and turmeric. Blend. Continue adding until you get that gorgeous golden color. Add honey to taste.
Done! Anti-inflammatory popsic..I mean, totally delicious and in no way healthy orangesicles!
Luckily, I don’t actually have to say this to my little guy, because he is coming to understand the value of health and taking care of his body from our discussions about it. Still, I don’t overemphasize how healthy something is when it comes to dessert.
I hope you and your kiddos enjoy this one!
